A tangy roast malt aroma and flavor dominate this black ale. Flaked (unmalted) barley contributes a fullness to the body and an incredibly dense foam. Roast and Black malt along with a higher fermentation temperature give a coffee-like roastyness. A generous amount of Cluster "bittering" hops provides the finishing spicy note. 4.5% ABV.

The Irish Stout poured an opaque black with a thin, fine, creamy, brown, nitro head that laced the glass. It looked like an ideal stout.
The aroma was subtle roasted malt and coffee.
The taste was sweet malt up front with some sweet cream / milk tones that were almost candy-like. It had a bitter, coffee-like finish and aftertaste that provided a nice balance of sweet and bitter. The mouthfeel was very velvety.
Overall, I thought this was an excellent stout. It may be a little too sweet, but it didn't bother me at all for the one pint I had.
