The Chicory Stout looked very impressive when poured - almost like a perfect stout. It was extremely dark with a nice creamy lgiht brown head with very fine bubbles that lasted for the duration. It's too bad it didn't live up to its appearance. The aroma was slightly malty and chocolatey, not as bold as I would have liked. It was also not nearly as full tasting as I would expect from a stout. The inital taste was a sweet floral flavor. It had a bitter toffee finish. However, the more I drank it, the less I liked it. The aftertaste became more and more overwhelming and unpleasant - almost soapy or chemical-like.
