The brewers of Columbus Brewing Company have crafted a new brew for the fall. Columbus Pumpkin Ale is brewed with special crystal malt from England, lots of pumpkin and a secret blend of spices. This beer is deep orange in color with rich malt flavors and a subtle spiciness.

I sampled this as part of a flight of beers at the Columbus Brewing Company. The beer was a dark amber with thin head. Their was the aroma of pumpkin pie spices coming through loud and clear but not in an overpowering way. The flavor was malty with the pumpkin flavor being being imparted through the aroma rather than the taste. I found this to be a positive thing.The mouthfeel enhanced the flavor with medium carbonation. I think this would go very well with chicken or turkey.
