https://cigarcitybrewing.com/beer/lager/?age-verified=b80ca33b2d Inspired by traditional German lagers, our Tampa-style Lager is brewed with German malted barley, Hallertauer hops and an authentic Bavarian lager yeast. We combine these ingredients to create a style that’s quite unique to our hometown of Tampa, Florida but will find admirers wherever a crisp, dry and flavorful lager is called for. Familiar to generations, it’s truly a beer that’s made for drinkin’.

    Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 8

Poured up on tap at RBWG16 (where I drank this over and over again and didn’t drink any Hunahpu, a lager instead of Hunahpu? Yes) where it exhibts a crystal clear pure gold body that supports a near white head of foam. The aroma offers up a pleasing blend of corn and sugar sweet malts with faint pear like fruity esters and floral hops in the background. The taste is smooth and sessionable where there’s a blend of corn and cracker malts, a little bit of sweet pear like fruitiness and then flowing into a modest level of floral hops. It gets a little more cracker-y and bready into the finish and I’m totally fine with that as this helps pull everything together. Solid lager, damn.

Pours clear pale yellow with a thick and frothy snow-white head. Aroma offers fresh malt and wan fruity notes, rather like a mega-brew. Flavor is fuller, crisp malt and a little tart apple. Mouthfeel features OK body and fair fizz. This could be a good brew to start weaning people off macro-brewed swill.
