Biere de Garde is a traditional artisanal farmehouse ale from the northern region of France. The name literally translates to beer which has been kept or lagered, typically brewed in the spring and Guarded for warm weather consumption. Our version is malt focused; bottle conditioned and in the Amber style. Please enjoy Brewmasters Signature Series beer #1.

Pours a dark, slightly hazy amber with a thick and fairly persistent eggshell head. Malty aroma has a strong fruity overtone, mainly apple with more than a hint of banana. Fruity flavor has just the right amount of sweetness, with a malty undertone and a firm hint of hops. Texture is firm and viscous, if none too fizzy. Sip it and enjoy.

Courtesy of Hannah, and shared w/ a great friend on a dreary early Autumn afternoon. Diminishing head on top of a mottled amber brown body. Very malt forward with a warming sweetness. Nutty with a mild Belgian spice and developing flavors of caramel, multi-grain bread and squash. A wonderful full bodied brew with a soft palate. A great Belgian yeast trait with hints of mild banana and cloves. One of the best Biere de Garde bottles I've had. Truly a style that needs more attention.

Suds. I'm following your way around the Choc beers. Don't know what you're drinking brother, but this was phucking phenomenal. Thanks to Brett for this awesome brew. Shared it with my phfriend Phred on his 85th birthday today. He loved it. Said it was the best thing that happened to him all day. I'd agree for myself. Poured a hazey orange. Not much of a head. Aroma is fruity, fresh cut flowers, grass, noticeable malt. Taste is slightly tart, but not really. Maybe just a hint of sour fruit. Wonderfully balanced. Delightful in every sense. So glad I got to try this and share it with Fred on his birthday. Thanks Brett!

Many thanks to brett for this well-crafted, delicious version of the too-seldom attempted and too-often botched farmhouse ale style. I absolutely loved this beer. It pours a slightly hazy light amber color with a flurry of miniscule bubbles and a dense, foamy off-white head that yields good lacing. The nose is clean and fresh with malty aromas coupled with faint yeast and lemon. The palate is full and smooth and flavors are solid - robust malt, fairly dry, with rich dark fruit, just lightly tart-sweet. The long finish brings out some sweet fruitiness that feints toward bitterness. Made even more sublime by pairing with Fenugreek Gouda, Holland's Family Cheese, Thorp, Wisconsin. THIS is exactly the beer I'd love to brew out in my barn. Oklahoma may be far from MOST good beer, but you can't find a biere de garde like this brewed anywhere here in Wisconsin.

Pours cloudy orange with huge, airy head. Lots of aroma featuring rich graininess and pear. The flavor is strong with alcohol but has a nice balance of malt and fruitiness; more bitterness in the finish would have been welcome. Still, the taste had an overall freshness that was fantastic. Full bodied and well carbonated, yet quite soft on the palate.

Sampled from bottle. Pours dark copper with a little haze, a thin, yet adequate head and nice lacing. Great perfume - citrus, flowers and a bit of yeast. Balanced with lots of citrus and pitted fruits. Very flavorful. Medium-full bodied. Very well done.
