This barrel of 2009 Bain De Brugge (the little brother of the Bourbonic Plague) is a spiced porter with hints of nutmeg, cinnamon, orange peel and star anise. It was then additionally aged on cherries. Look for hints of cherry sweetness throughout the deep maltiness of this cellared beer. The cherries appear again in the finish and leave a lingering sour coating on the palate.

Had a glass of this crazy porter at the Cascade Barrel House in Portland. It looks like a porter, though a little more red, with nice brown foam. It has a great sour cherry aroma. Also some orange and spice in the flavor with the cherry. Nicely smooth and creamy. Very nice porter.
