Carlsberg Light replaced Carlsberg Let in January 2003. The recipe is new. Carlsberg Light is a light golden beer. The aroma is fresh and malty. The beer has a discreet sourness, a low alcohol content and a fine slim body. Carlsberg Light has lots of Pilsener flavour, but less alcohol. That makes Carlsberg Light the ideal lunch beer.

pours a lite golden color, with a medium sized white head, that leaves little lacing. The aroma was faint, but consisted of hops and malt. The taste was the same as the aroma, faint but very watery. The mouthfeel was watery.

Typical "light" (which in Denmark and Norway previously always meant "low alcohol") beer. Little more to add. A 2.5% version was made for Norway. Golden colour, moderate head. A very watered down pale lager, but with some malt and very moderate hops in aroma and flavour, not totally undrinkable when you have to drive afterwards.
