Cameron's Deviator Doppelbock Barrel Aged is a unique brew that is based on our previous award-winning Doppelbock releases. It is 8.6% ABV and is offered in a 750ml bottle. Doppelbocks are Teutonic-inspired dark lagers that feature imported German malt and were served by the Bavarian monks during times of fasting as "liquid bread." This version of Cameron's Deviator Doppelbock has been aged for six months in Kentucky bourbon barrels. This process lends to a smooth, toasted vanilla notes, layered upon the complex malty body. Our latest deviation was to place this beer into Bourbon Barrels to create a more robust flavour. Chris Schryer, from The Toronto Beer Blog, described it as follows "This produced an aroma which is huge, with clear bourbon notes… vanilla and oaky but without significant alcohol heat. The bourbon is fragrant, but very much in the background. As the beer warms, everything become more pronounced, but especially the vanilla, which becomes an enticing perfume when poured into the glass. Just a magnificent beer, clean and complicated. Great as an after-dinner brew, or while sitting around a campfire."

Bomber from the LCBO. Pours a dark copper colour with some red highlights. Creamy beige head, decent retention and not much lace. Dark fruit aromas with some plums and prunes. Hints of roasted malts, cherries and coffee. The taste is not as sweet as the nose gives out to be. Still the dark fruits, but milder with some hop finish and light yeast lingers. Alcohol is well-hidden. Vanilla notes and bourbon are quite mild, almost nonexistent. Nonetheless, goes down nicely.
