Cameron’s Doppelbock features imported German malt, a rich dark amber colour, and an aroma full of sweet toffee and caramel encompassing hints of coffee and freshly baked bread. The finish is deliciously complex with a full mouth feel, followed by lasting sweetness.

Pours a large amount of frothy brownish head and has a dark brown appearance with red highlights. Patchy lacing. Aromas of vanilla, oak, toffee and bready malts. Has light chocolate and vanilla flavours. Roasted malts with hints of nuts, toffee and mild caramel. Slick, oily and creamy mouthfeel. Alcohol is just barely noticeable, more apparent in the finish. Really good. Another great release from the oak aged series.

Brown/ruby pour with a short lived beige head. No lacing. Aroma is fruity with a touch of smoke. Taste is sweet caramel malt, dark fruits, moderate roasted malt and a bit of pepper. Medium smooth mouthfeel. Ok beer but not that impressed.

I tried this beer on tap on December 9, 2011 at "C'est What" in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer poured a very solid brownish-black colour with a thin creamy brown cap. The aroma was roasted malt, dark fruit, and coffee. The mouthfeel was medium to full bodied, with medium carbonation. The flavour was roasted malt, molasses, and caramel. -

Bottle: pours a deep brown lager in the glass, ruby highlights, rich mocha cap. Aroma is a tad understated but indicative of a quality dunkler bock – bready, lightly sweet, coco, roasty, earthy. Taste has a flood of Munich caramel malts in front, either Hallertau or spalters balance it well. A little complexity begins just before the long drying roasty finish. A fairly good attempt at a bock, but more complexity and the fig-dark dried fruit tastes are missing = perhaps the primary fermenting was too cool. Anyway these are small issues and overall this is a quite drinkable doppelbock.
