Legend has it the fishermen of Central America sought the Great Loggerhead Turtle in warm tropical waters. It was tribal belief that this powerful turtle also known as the "Caguama", symbolized good fortune for the fisherman's village. It's our hope that you too will experience the good fortune of the "Caguama". Salud!

I got a free can , so why not try it ? a large party down the street and someone was tossing full cans on every lawn on the block. It was a cold day , and I never drink beer on cold days, so I gave it the dog dish Beer vs Water test. 2 dogs, 2 water dishes. I put a little Caguama in one and water in the other. Well , the dogs prefer it to water , so next summer I will try it myself. ( Note , no beer has ever failed this test !)

Pours a very pale yellow color. Smell is heavy of corn. Taste is corn, some grains, not very flavorful. Feels light in the mouth and overall is a mediocre beer.

Pours a clear, wan yellow with a white head that quickly dissipates - hardly looks like beer at all. Aroma is a bit fruity and has a strong skunky overtone. Flavor is just strong and just malty enough to pass for beer. Texture is smooth and a little tingly. Nothing to write home about - but I was willing to give El Salvadorian beer a fair shake.

Caguama was about what you would expect from a central american beer. Mid yellow body, some carbonation, and very little head. aroma of sweet corn and some malts, flavor is about the same. Its too sweet for me, but there are worse out there.

this is a beer from El Salvador, not Mexico as stated earlier in a review. It pours light gold color and has a distinct sweet malt aroma to it. Typical malt flavor as in typical American light lagers but with a sweet finish, not candy like, but a subtle tartness on the tongue. It tastes cheap, and it is cheap, but you will find more value in Caguama than you will in Bud, Coors, or Miller, as well as Corona or Tecate. we used to buy 30 can cases from Food 4 Less for $12 on the right day; it's like feeding a family of four, or even six for beer. Also keep an eye out for Caguama Special Reserve; its a green version of this beer, maybe Heineken esque I would say. Same price, but a little but different on the palate; both are great, super cheap buys to get you wasted.

Without a lime, I wouldn't go near, but with a squeezed lime I enjoy especially for the price. 5$ cheaper than corona for a 12 pack including the lime. i first tired this at a bar near Western Carolina University were i went to college. It was one of those nights were every bar i went to I would tell the bar tenders to giev me the cheapest thign they got..at a bar called Guadelupes they gave me this with a lime for 2 bucks, i remember thinking.."hey not bad at all i was expecting a pbr."

Very cheap, good Party beer. The interesting and extremely fabricated legend of the beer on the side makes for good reading. Smooth, decent taste greatly improves with mass consumption. In the morning it tastes like the turtle sh*t in your mouth.

Just a nasty, nasty beer...one of the worst I've ever had. At least the label is nice and the price was, too. As soon as the cap came off, the aroma was regrettably piss-like. Well, no completely piss-like but too close for my liking. Also, my abused nose detected some perfume-like taint, and I was reminded of the unloved Hite. This must be Hite's Latino cousin. Colour was sadly a clear, light gold which due to the aroma also came to resemble urine. An exploding large head quickly died away to nothing. Taste was NFG, odd and perfumed. Mouthfeel was that of a weak and watery so-called beer. Aftertaste was non-existent .

Very pale yellow. Clear, with a fizzy, fleeting white head. The aroma is mild hops, which are almost a touch minty. Corn is the dominate "malt" flavor. Soft, not offensive, but not a lot of flavor either.

Sure, the smell may give you a tingly headache once you sniff in the aroma, but once you start drinking this beer you will fall in love with this beer. The story about Caguama is a great tale that I plan on sharing with my children in hopes they will pass it along to their children and keep the story alive. The appearance is not bad at all, it looks pretty sharp and good in a glass actually. The taste, well you definately get used to it. Which, in turn, makes this one of the most drinkable beers I have had. A 30 pack for $13 is the best deal you can find, and is actually a bargain considering I would pay as much as $13.99 for a thirty. I love this beer and have great memories while drinking it. I definaetley recomend to everyone, just give the turtle piss a try.
