The Brooklyn Brewery is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. We are fortunate to be a part of the incredible cultural renaissance Brooklyn has enjoyed during the last quarter century. Four great Brooklyn artists whom we met along the way—Fred Tomaselli, Roxy Paine, Joe Amhrein and Elizabeth Crawford—have created special labels for our Silver Anniversary Lager beer. We are saluting our beginnings with a special doppelbock version of the Brooklyn Lager we introduced in 1988. This beer is re-fermented in the bottle and will taste great today or years from now. The original was inspired by the beers of 19th Century New York and Vienna.

75cl bottle shared by Arve_Christian - thanks! Pours slightly hazy caramel coloured with a white head. Medium malty with caramel, slightly fruity and medium hoppy aroma. Medium sweet with malty flavours and a noticable bitterness. Quite decent, but not my style.

Pours a beautiful clear chestnut with a thick, fluffy, pale buff head. Aroma has a strong and somewhat sweet fruity overtone atop malty and subtle caramel notes. Bold flavor builds fruity, hoppy and caramel notes on a malty core. Fruit sweetness and hoppy bitterness balance each other very nicely. Firm texture has a decent amount of fizz, and goes down smoothly but leaves a fair tingle. Happy Anniversary, Brooklyn!

Deep golden pour with a two finger white head, plenty of lacing, very nice carbonation. Abundant malts meet Noble hops in a big way, some green apples, caramel, some spiciness, a touch hot. Very nice Lager.

Pours a brownish amber color with a half inch of head. Good amount of lacing. The aroma is of citrus and spicy hops, caramel malts and earth. The taste is mostly booze hence the low score, but there are hints of caramel malts and bread, sweet and earthy at the end. Light and creamy mouthfeel. Overall the booze kinda ruins it especially as it warms. Drink cold and fast. Still confused why the bottle says "Lager"...
