Opens with an aroma of a great scotish ale. Mouthfeel is nice and chewy. Great color and the after taste leaves you wanting more. Drink it english style a little warmer.

Muddled copper-red color with a thin tan head. Nice lacing. Toffee-caramel-malt aroma and flavor. Nice, smooth texture and finish. The flavor is rich without being too sweet or intense. Indicative of the type.

Sampled on 10/4/2012. This Scottish Ale pours a medium brown color from a 12oz bottle. Small sized white foamy head. The aroma is malty, caramel, fruity and sweet. A medium bodied Scottish Ale. The malts are caramel, fruity and sweet. The hops are herbal. Mild carbonation. A little bit of smoke and a touch nutty. But mostly sweet caramel and bready malts. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet

A nice scottish ale from Bristol, A nice balance of sweet bready malts, with a slight hint of smoke, and caramel in the aroma and flavor departments. It was a little light on the malts for this style of beer, but it is still a decent brew.

Yeah, it pours a dark mahogany brown with no head and lace apparent. Scents of roasted caramel malt, light hops, citrus, toffee, and light spice. The mouthfeel is smooth, although thin. Flavors of roasted malts, toffee, light hops, some citrus, and spice. Great brew.

This comes out of the tap a rich mahogany brown with a fine-bubbled head. Aroma is strong, spicy, malty, with a hint of hops. Flavor is rich and smooth, with hints of hops, caramel, smoke and cloves; the sweet nicely balances the hop bitterness. It goes down lively and sassy.

Here's the flagship beer in Bristol's lineup of great beers. This is one of the best scottish ales that I know of. Great hoppy and carmel malt taste. I probably average around 5 of these beers a month, and it never gets old. Try one.

From a bottle. Pours a clear brown with a thin white head. Aroma is malty, but light. Flavor immediately reminded me of iced tea. Somewhat sweet. Very different from any other scottish I've had, but that's not a bad thing. Thanks to Caddy for getting the bottle for me.

Sampled on draft at the Bucking Toad, CO Springs. Pours clear dark amber with intricate lacing. Sublte malt aroma and a balanced, clean malt flavor with just a hint of smoke. Medium-bodied and smooth. Not enough malt complexity for a beer that highlights malt.

Pours a slightly hazed brown with a vanishing head. The aroma is extremely malty, a little earthy with a touch of black tea. Very sweet and malty. No actual hop aroma or flavor.
