Our fall seasonal combines the malty goodness of a German lager with the clean crispness of an American ale. Brewed with Munich malts and a delicate blend of Bavarian hops, it's a full-bodied treat with a nutty-sweet middle, a warming alcohol level and notes of toasted grains. A pre-winter winner.

Black, tan foam ring remaining. Sweet aroma, light smokey tones. Too sweet taste, some toast notes. Short aftertaste. Ommegang should be able to brew finer beers. (Davenport 201510)

An enjoyable brew. Had a few samples from this brewery, nothing really stands out so far...but each one decent. I thought this would be lighter based on the label (lighter brown or Marzen/Oktoberfest), but more like a dark brown ale ...almost like a black lager. This is more like a winter ale, but it gets a lot colder in Colorado in the fall vs. Florida.

Strong, malty aroma has an earth overtone that brings to mind fallen leaves, as well as hints of cloves and caramel. Pours a barely translucent warm dark woody brown with a fairly thick tan head. Flavor just says "autumn" with roast malt and earth tones plus a hint of cloves. It's almost like drinking the very essence of autumn. Smooth texture has decent body and fizz. An excellent brew to celebrate fall.

Not a bad brew! Picked it up in a mix-match sixer. Dark reddish brown. Slightly muddy. Decent size head that was a risin' quickly. Aroma is moderately hoppy with caramel, pecan and fig on the nose. Taste is semi-sweet, soft and fruity with a nice hop finish.

A deep mahogany colored beer with a small frothy textured, white head. Not much hang time with this one. A medium ringlet is what is left. Light malt, caramel nose. More dominated in the profile in the tasting. Medium bodied, lightly carbonated.

Not much going on with this one here, only a very slight bready malt presence, in the aroma and flavor and thats about it. Deep, dark brown body, almost no head, mouthfeel is kinda thin and watery.

It pours a dark mahogany with a thick and foamy light-tan head and some surrounding lacing. An aroma of roasted malts, nuttiness, oranges and citrus, raisins, some chocolate, light molasses, and spiciness. The mouthfeel is smooth, thick and rich. Flavors of roasted malts, coffee, chocolate, orange and citrus, nuttiness, and spiciness. This one is excellent and very smooth!

In my search for an Old ale that I have had I stumbled on to this one. I will have to continue my search for a better one. This beer is just not that good.
Smells Of toasted something with some malt and alcohol on the nose. pours a rich reddish color with some thin white head that goes away quick. Medium to full body with okay carbonation and a smooth finish. Flavor was blah but okay. I was expecting more. Some malt and roasted nuts. Pretty sweet with a brown ale backbone.. It was Okay.. not great... -

Draft pint at the Ball Park Breckenridge location in Denver. Recommended by my server, described by him as a 'big brown ale'. Happy Hour $3/pint. Dark brown color, with a short tan head. Coating layers of lace with good foam stability. Aromas of caramel and toasted malt, a bit nutty and grainy. Very tastey, higher alcohol is hidden well. Touch of smoke along with the maltiness works well. Smooth, lightly carbonated, not too fizzy or foamy. Happy to have tried this one, but would try something different next time.
