Pitch black, as in - no highlights. The head is small, but decent lasting, darker mocha-coloured and a little ring is left around the brew. Roasted malt base aromas with molasses, nuttiness and some alcohol warming the nose. The taste is fairly bitter, with that Bourbon feel. The coconut linger with a bit of the alcoholic punch. Lots of roasted barley all-around. A smooth, a tad oily mouthfeel with enough dryness. A nice 50/50 balance between the new Imperial Stout and barrel one to not overpower the Bourbon, and still have some burnt malt kick.
