Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 7
Sampled at the brewpub, pouring a dark brown with not much head, but a ring of mocha-coloured foam and tiny spots on the glass. Chocolate, cherry-almond aromas with a touch of soya sauce, biscuit and vanilla. The mouthfeel is silky, and not too heavy for the style. A tad dryness in the finish. Cherry sweet taste with the Bourbon helping here, and the almonds, coconut blending the roasted malts. A good nutty Imperial Sweet Stout with a lot going on, but almonds feel a bit on the essence side, giving that cherriness.
