Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8
Sampled at the Hautes-Plaines brewery, pouring a very dark brown colour with hardly any highlights. The head is creamy, decent lasting and leaves nice wavy lacing. Boozy aromas of roasted malts, wood, Bourbon, herbal notes and hints of nuttiness. Silky smooth mouthfeel with some good building bitterness and dryness. The hops do cut the Bourbon sweetness taste in this one. Molasses base and a touch of dark fruits. A nicely balanced Imperial Stout with some solid hop-bitterness and a tad Bourbon barrel.
