The beer poured a translucent brown colour with a thin tan head that quickly fades to a ring. The aroma is roasted malt, coffee, and floral hops. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour is roasted malt, grain, and some bitter hops in the end.

Pours an average size frothy beige head and has an dark amber appearance. Fairly weak lacing. Aromas of toasty and nutty malts, resin hops. Flavours of dark fruits, some lemony hints, roasted malt notes. Has some notes of resin and earthy type hops. Pretty varied with the tastebuds. Slick and slightly oily sensation. Medium bodied mouthfeel. Not bad but a bit all over the place.

Another recent edition at the Ontario Liquor Store franchise which naturally I needed to try. A brownish pour, solid, thin brown head. A porter like aroma with sweet roasted malt, chocolate, and floral hops. Flavour was nothing to write home about however....weak roasted malt dominates a weak hoppish hint.

Brown bottle from the LCBO with a best before date: 16 AUG 11. Was expecting a thick stout with a name like that, but no. Just a dark brown cola-looking with red highlights and quite see-through. The head was big, creamy, foamy, off-white, had decent retention and small amounts of lace. Tiny bubbles active carbonation. Again, was expecting roasted malts, but was more on the hop side of things. Sweet malt, kind of like brown sugars that were burnt a bit. Hints of molasses and vanilla. Medium-bodied and pretty fizzy. Some roasted malt comes out in the taste with notes of hop bitterness, coffee and butterscotch. Overall, pretty mild and thin. Decent drinkability but was not expecting the hop to take over the malt.

500ml bottle dated Aug 16. Poured a clear dark brown with requisite ruby highlights. Smallish head, demure carbonation. Aroma is decent in the vein of a London porter; roast a bit of sweetness, fruit, wet hay. Front is roasty lightly sweet with proper fuggles balance then a black current fruityness and it goes to a wet but dry finish. Really decent porter but a tad thin in the palate.
