John Barleycorn is memorialized in English folk song as the personification of the barley plant, sacrificed at harvest time and later reborn as ale. Boulevard's Harvest Dance Wheat Wine is a celebration of John's Midwestern cousin, wheat. Beginning with a large portion of wheat malt, they add an equally generous helping of hallertau and citra hops and age the ale on both French and American oak. The result is a big, warming burst of tropical fruit flavor, highlighted by subtle wine-like notes, and rounding slowly to a long, dry oaky finish.

Bottle - 750mL corked and caged. Murky amber with a tall, foamy tan head. Aroma is big floral hops and yeast with fruit notes, malt and soft wine notes. Taste is floral hops, tropical fruit, white wine, yeast, malt, light grains and oak. Body is medium with a moderate, bubbly carbonation. Slightly dry during the finish while the alcohol comes forth a bit. Ends with more floral hops, big fruit, yeast, malt notes, white wine, oak and grains.

Bottle share from ~~NGD. Rusty copper pour, tight head, some lacing. Nice sweet light fruit nose and initial flavor, almost syrupy, big malts and nice citrus hops presence. Big and warming.

My bottle must be quite old, and not in a good way. Massively overcarbonated. Alcohol phenols on the noise. Completely devoid of taste. Hop water with a slight wheat malt sweetness. Not a fan.

1st Citra hopped wheat wine I've ever had. Fruity, with zesty yeast and a firm alcohol backbone. A little on the prickly side, but the flavor and aroma are different in a very good way.

Pours a beautiful hazy golden with a thick, fluffy, off-white head. Aroma is wheaty and yeasty with a subtle citrus note. Wheaty flavor has a strong, but not bitter, hoppy note and yeasty and citrus hints. Smooth flavor has firm body and an OK amount of fizz. Harvest this one!

Hazy light ruby color with small off-white foam head. Aroma is cherries with some bourbon. Taste is sweet, fruity but also slightly bitter hop. Long aftertaste chenging from sweet cherry on tip of tongue to sour at back. (Houston 201208)

My first wheatwine and hopefully not my last. Pours a cloudy light copper with a creamy white head. Wheaty, spicy aroma with just a hint of fruit. Oak and fruit play a bigger role in the taste. Very pleasant sipper. Looking forward to my next wheatwine.

Pours copper orange with a foamy white head and moderate lacing. Spicy/peppery aroma - maybe nutmeg and clove. Full-bodied and yeasty. Alcohol masked well. Nice.
