A Belgian Dubbel, a style that originated in the monasteries in the Middle Ages. This beer is rich, malty and raisiny with a touch of caramel flavor. Being one of our bigger beers this should be enjoyed in moderation.

Bottle shared by sloth. Pour was typical in color for the style, yet a weak head and lacing. The aroma was odd, caramel, some light yeast and then off vegetal type scents. The flavor followed the aroma, earthy and vegetal, some dark fruits (but not very nice, more raisiney than anything), astringent but semi-sweet candy aspects. The mouthfeel is light and astringent. Meh, not that great of a brew, but thanks anyway, Bert, ya good man you!
