Lewis and Clark's 1805-1806 expedition took them past the many creeks that flow into the Bitterroot, among them the Sawtooth Creek. Bitter Root Brewing's blonde ale is made from the finest pale malt and hops available. The addition of malted rye and wheat give this beer a crisp, dry flavor. It's a national medal winner, and a year round favorite.

So far, this is the worst of the lot from Bitter Root. Like the amber and pale ales, this blonde ale has a very mild aroma and taste. Mostly bready with just enough grassy hops to finish with a hint of bitterness.

6/03, from growler. Pours shiney, goldenrod, no head to speak of, no lace. Aromas of wheat bread, day old lawn clippings, uninspired. Flavor is ho-hum at first but has a nice crisp bite at the back. I don't taste rye. A lawnmower beer for sure.
