Brewmaster Paul Gautreau has always been an unrepentant experimenter with beers and he is prone to inspiration at any place and any time. So it is hardly surprising that driving past fields of saskatoon berries every day, Paul would begin contemplating how to perfectly marry this delicious fruit with his fine wheat ale. However, the berries were just a touch too tart by themselves, certain sweetness was needed to complete the taste. The epiphany came while Paul was planning a trip to Mexico – agave! This nectar would provide exactly the finish that was needed to produce the unique taste of a summer day on the prairies.
