Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 5
Pour was a big cloudy/hazy golden color, unfortunatley served with an orange. The aroma was orange sweet malts, some bitter bready yeasty elements. The flavor was thick and sticky sweet orange malts, only a slight wheaty bitterness, lacking a clean hoppy bite/finish, short of refreshing. A pretty disappointing taken on the style, but overall drinkable, as long as you only order one. Mouthfeel was not clean, sticky, bready, orangey sweet. They said this rang in at 11+%, but if so the alcohol was fairly tame, probably the only well done part of the beer (hidden by high residual sugars?).

a lighter color than i expected from an abbey, but it still satisfied. it was smooth and fruity in flavor and had no aftertaste. goes great with the brewers special dinner
