This historical “mumme” beer style has been brought back to life for Beau’s Oktoberfest! A medieval-era ale with a bouquet of botanicals including red clover blossom, mugwort, dandelion root, and black tea, this beer is spice-forward with balancing residual malt sweetness. History & Style Beau’s Oktoberfest features a cross-brewery team beer challenge for 2015 – the staff have split into 4 camps, each eager to out-brew each other for the right to Team Beer victory and a place in the 2016 Oktoberfest Mix Pack! Mumme is a medieval ale that shares characteristics with a modern altbier. “Return of the Mumme” is brought to you by Team Luchador. Tasting Notes Pours a dark orange with a frothy tan head. Initial aromas of gingerbread and malt, and black licorice rise up from a subtle traditional hop aroma. Mouthfeel is smooth and slightly creamy, leaving a residual sweetness to balance the spices and the hops.
