Bush Fire is a flame-coloured ale infused with teas made from two plants native to South Africa, rooibos and honeybush. Spicy, earthy, and with a gentle touch of sweetness, this aromatic creation brings together two of the world’s most popular brews – tea and beer! History & Style Both rooibos and honeybush are herbal components of traditional teas made in South Africa. The certified organic fairtrade rooibos and honeybush teas used in Bush Fire were harvested in South Africa. These teas were steeped during the brewing process into a base blonde ale style. Tasting Notes Bush Fire has initial aromas of earthy rooibos and sweet honeybush, rounded out with spiciness from Whitbread Golding Variety hops. Similar earthy-sweet flavours are present, with spicy notes and a mild tartness courtesy of rosehips and hops. A bready malt profile helps to balance out the flavours, and a dry finish enhances the spicy and earthy character of the beer. Food Pairings Grilled ham steaks with grainy mustard, Bobotie (South African meat pie), Boerewors sausage, spiced or aged Gouda, honey spice tea cakes. Part of Best of Beau's 2016 mixed 4pk. Pours a fairly big frothy off-white head that sticks around for a while. Has a hazy golden amber appearance. Some nice thick dirty lacing remains. Aromas of bready and toasty malts, some resin and light floral hop hints. Flavours are fruity, some notes of coriander, hints of orange peel. Some mild spice notes as well, a little bit of nutmeg. Smooth and slick mouthfeel. Medium bodied. Great retention. Good stuff!

Part of the Best of Beau's 2016. Pours a hazy golden-amber colour with a creamy warm cap, long lasting with some very nice creamy lacing. Very interesting aromas blended with floral notes, dark fruits and even some light smokiness. The taste is even more different with some grassiness and the two South African teas showing beautiful floral notes again. Hints of roasted malts and some fruity oranges. Wow! Another great original brew from Beau's.
