Sargon is a ginger beer that has been partially barrel aged in rum barrels. Sargon is the name of a legendary warrior-king whose dynasty controlled Mesopotamia for more than a century. This fun and flavourful twist on an English Ale is an interpretation of the classic rum-and-ginger beer combo called a “Dark & Stormy.” Organic ginger contributes the signature aromatics of this spice, along with a snappy heat. An aging in cognac/rum barrels adds the final touches to Sargon.

Pours a hazy golden-amber colour with a huge creamy off-white cap, very long lasting with thick foamy lacing. Aromas are sour with the rum notes in the background. And in the back of this... is the very light ginger. Even soapy hops are almost as present. Did not taste the ginger at first, but as you get into it, it does appear, and the beer gets cloudier. Refreshing, interesting and not the typical ginger beer we are use to. Just not sure if the little sourness is infection or not, as I have never had a bad beer from this great brewery.

Pours a huge amount of foamy bubbly head and has a slightly hazy, amber orangey appearance. Thick patchy lacing. Aromas of ginger, orange peel, citrus hops. Flavours are fairly strong with ginger, not too overpowering though, which is good. A slight sourness comes through as well. Full bodied mouthfeel. Tingling sensation. Quite excessive carbonation. Very good but couldn't tell if it is rum barrel aged or not.

The beer pours a golden brown colour with a generous rocky tan coloured head that lingers. The aroma is detergent, ginger, grains, and spices. The mouthfeel is mredium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is a very acidic and grainy base with hints of ginger and pepper. The barrel aging is nowhere to be found.
