Beau's Pro-Am Series is a salute to homebrewers, true innovators of our craft — beers designed by amateur brewers, brewed at Beau's. Tim Gregory won the 2011 Toronto Beer Week Homebrew Contest with the recipe for Doc's Feet Dubbel, so we brewed it up with him this summer. Complex, pronounced fruitiness and malt character are present in this Belgian-style brown ale, along with spicy notes and alcohol warmth. Doc (Tim's cat) – approved!

From "The Best of Beau's 2013" 4-pack at the LCBO. The beer pours a hazed dark copper colour with a half inch whitish head that shrinks to a film. The aroma is burnt caramel, weak yeast, and slight funk. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is on the bland side as nothing stands out. Some yeastiness with dark fruits and burnt caramel.

Pours a huge frothy brownish head. Has a hazy coppery brown appearance. Aromas of barley malts, mild cane sugar. Flavours are yeasty, some light malts, resin hops, mild spices. Mouthfeel is chalky and slightly astringent. Medium bodied. Not bad but needs a more distinctive flavour.

Pours a cloudy ruby-brown, smallish head. Aroma has dark fruits some burnt caramel touch of sweetness, earthy yeast must. Flavour approximates a good sturdy dubbel but it seems a tad young....some rough edges that aging would cure. other than that I enjoyed this flavorful satisfying brew

Part of "The Best of Beau's 2013" 4-pack at the LCBO. Pours a slight hazy amber-copper colour with a beautiful beige head, very long lasting and with some creamy thick lacing. Mild dark fruits nose with some banana, alcohol and hints of plastic. This alcohol plastic feel is also present in the taste with the banana in the background. Very light Belgian Ale yeast. Not sure about this plastic-bitter hop, as hop is not big in this style. Not the best Dubbel by any means, but real glad they brought it back so I could try it.
