Settle in for a while with ‘Farm Table’ beers, brewed to be quaffed in good times and good company. This new beer is part of the Farm Table line of beers from Beau’s, a series dedicated to exploring traditional styles of beer that serve up big, interesting flavours, but with a sessionable ABV. Came in a 4-pack with three other different ones, as the best of 2012 (voted by the fans). Batch no. 2910. Wow ! This is quite interesting. A mix between a Belgian and a Pale ale. Pours a cloudy golden-amber colour with a foamy off-white head that laces the glass with soapy chunks. A beautiful blend of aromas, between the mild grassy hop and the Belgian yeast. The taste is pretty similar, with the hop not overpowering, but creating a nice mild dryness. Notes of peaches and other fruits, with the cereal grains (rye) showing in the finish and hints of the yeast. I really enjoyed this one, just like their Koru. Belgian style, with more hop and great for a session ale.

On tap: puts a pale gold lightly hazed ale in the glass - 1 finger cap. Light carbonation and weak lacing on the glass. Aroma is subdued - grassy, a bit of malt, a bit of Belgian funk from the yeast. Soft mouth feel, light fluid body. A nice balance of herbal-bittering hops and pale malts, fast clean finish. I thought this was a dead ringer for a British pale ale like Fuller’s Bengal. Drinkable but rather weak. Not my cup of tea....I prefer to "session" more substantial beers. I will try other Beau’s Farm Table beers but not if there are better alternatives
