As a Bière de Garde, Acadie offers the style’s prominent malty aroma. A freshly poured beer is highly carbonated and bronze colored with a nice, thick off-white head. Malty with an underlying caramel sweetness, Acadie finishes medium-dry. The restrained use of continental hops provides its balanced hop bitterness. The restrained use of elegant Strisselspalt and Saaz hops offer a perfectly balanced bitterness with a very discreet hop aroma. Acadie is our summer/fall seasonal beer. France’s elegant contribution to the world’s beer styles is Bière de Garde - translated it means “beer for keeping” and has been brewed on farms there for centuries. Just as the French proudly brew their traditional ale, as descendants of survivors of Le Grand Dérangement we brew an artisanal version we call Acadie - in memory of our Acadian homeland. Acadie offers the smooth roundness of artisanal farmhouse ale, thus this French style beer is terrific paired with most any cuisine.

Pours a lovely clear golden with a fairly thick ivory head. Malty, wheaty aroma has a hint of caramel. Flavor has good wheaty and malty notes, a subtle hoppy tone, and a hint of honey. Smooth texture is fairly fizzy. A good beer to go with lunch.

This was brought out camping, to a music festival by a friend of a friend from New Orleans. Brewed at Lazy Magnolia Brewing in Mississippi though. The smell is not that great...like wet dog, but not too skunky. Average light brown-gold appearance. Flavor makes up for it. Malty caramel, some bread and sugar going on. Has potential if some of the other characteristics were better, but all in all it's about an average brew.
