Sampled on 9/15/2015. This Imperial Pilsner/Imperial Pale Lager pours a slightly cloudy amber brown color from a 22 oz bottle shaped aluminum can. Small sized white foamy head. The aroma is herbal fresh hops, lots of caramel malts and tropical. A medium to full bodied IPL. The malts are caramel and fruity, lots of tropical flavors. The hops are herbal and have that fresh hops herbal/earthy and ‘dank’ flavor. Decent carbonation. Good balance. Has a lot of malts sweetness that is balanced by the dank and herbal hops. Just not sure if I am a big fan of the fresh hops mix in this one, I keep getting some muddy instead of earthy. Now I have to see if I can figure out which Topo Map they used on the label… Mouthfeel is full and round Finish is clean and smooh. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

Dark for the style, big piney and mLt driven aroma. Like the regular ipl, a little malty for my taste but still nice. Nice body and the hops are all pine and spice. Different but good.
