dark and delightful, this is an easy-drinking brew. Once a seasonal favorite we now brew it all the time as part of our variety case. Brewed with five different malts and three different hops, the pitched with a Bavarian lager yeast.

Mark me down as 'not a fan'. It pours a nice black colour, solid, with a thin dark brown head. The aroma is roasted malt, caramel, and some mild hops. The flavour is skunky, with little ropasted malt or schwarzbier character coming through.

Sampled on draught at the brewery in Tannersville. A normal shwarz with nothing too distinguishing other then a metallic nose that I didn't particularly enjoy. Dark black colour, thin beige head. Taste has some licorice, and spinach. Wierd.

I will have to try another bottle but this wasn't good. Flat almost no carbonation bitter flavor and aftertaste. The aroma was bitter as well. I will have to get another one of these and give it another go.

Wow, this was an outstanding find! The brew poured a very dark brown color with a thick, creamy head that seemed to last forever. The aroma was a rich blend of spices and hops. The taste was sensational-somewhat like a dark beer but not nearly as harsh. This came as part of a variety case and I highly recommend giving it a try!
