Wow. Talk about pushing the envelope between medicore and just plain lousy..., this beer takes the cake. "What a feeling of pleasure! Expierence this beautfully balanced all malt brew touched by honey flavor and a delicate hint of almond". Uh uh....
Just like seemingly every other beer brewed in Cold Springs, MN, this beer is from a quasi-fictious brewery (i.e. "Barkley Sound Brewing Company", in the case), and only shows up in certian chain supermarkets -- around here, Barkley Sound is Ralph's Supermarkets' stock beer: "Only available at your local Ralph's!". Ugh. With somrthing this boring, it's a shame that Ralph's doesn't have a Return policy!
Golden Ale in appearence, with no aroma to speak of. Decent head and some lacing, at least. But this is too sweet and (I'm afriad to say this, but will anyway), quite "girly" for a beer. I can detect neither honey nor almond in either the flavor or finish. Soft and pretentious in the mouthfeel, and drinkable only in the way almost anything can be considered drinkable on the hot and semi-humid days we've been having here in San Diego this Summer.
It's kind of a shame, since I can see a BudMillerCoors fan seeing this at the local supermarket, and picking up a six-pack to see what's the big deal with microbrewed beer -- and getting a very flawed impression afterwards.
Avoid this, please.

A watery beer that has the aroma and flavor of cream soda that pours without a head. Very disappointing.

Sampled from bottle. Pours a clear, dark gold with a collared white head. Aroma is sour and medicinal. Flavor is identical to A&W cream soda. Smooth, watery body. A horrible beer experience.

The aroma of this makes me sick. A terrible beer to say the least. Really does taste like a liquid watered down almond. Why

This is another hit at low carb beer. The smell was good, could smell the honey. The taste was sweet with a hint of honey, no almond whatsoever. It started out good, but then almost turned to water. Not enough bite. I guess because of the low carb it cannot have all the options that I would want. OK for this type of beer
