This ale with its rich malt flavour and its pleasant hop aroma is a great beer for those who want to embark in the microbrew world. Its velvety head and pale color gives the Matante a very inviting appearance. This ale is great by itself or with cheeses and starters. > Light to the palate > Frothy foam, smooth and creamy texture > Delicate bitterness complemented by rich maltiness > Great by itself, with mild hard cheeses and all kinds of appetizers

Purchased at Intermarché St-Roch in Quebec City (where my band was playing). This one reminds me a lot of their "Kwe" brew (which I have reviewed tonight as well), but even a little lighter in all aspect. Light yellow colour, white head, some lacing. Mild nose of malt and a little hop perfume. Grainy malt taste. Yeah, pretty much a watered down version of their "Kwe" except for the mouthfeel being better.

By far the best offering of this microbrewery,a quite refreshing ale, nothing complex but definitely well under control resulting a fine balance between the malt and the floral aroma of the hops...This is fresh cereal and refreshing...
