Thunder Trail ESB (6.0% ABV): stays true to our English Brewing Heritage. With a strong backbone of Maris Otter and Crystal malts, this Extra Special Bitter is balanced by earthy, spicy, English hops. Our Ringwood yeast strain imparts a dis-tinctly fruity character that is accented by dry-hopping with a modest amount if Palisade hops. We hope you enjoy this quality session ale—wherever the Trail may take you.

Pours clear, dark, almost brownish amber with a very thick and rather persistent frothy eggshell head. Strong, malty aroma has notes of caramel, cloves and hops. Flavor has a malty core and even more cloves and hops, plus earthy and caramel undertones for a well-rounded flavor; bitterness gets your attention but isn’t pushy. Mouthfeel has average body and fizz, while finish adds a fruity tone to the flavor. Follow this trail to some good beer.

Very little head (apparantly a recurring theme from these guys) and minimal lacing above a deep copper body. Malty with a mild hop bite. Sweet caramel with a solid nuttiness. Lightly buttery with a splash of earthy/floral hops. Nothing stands out from this offering.
