Enjoyed at gabf 2014. It pours with a clear amber body that supports a thin tan head of foam. The aroma offers up the expected thin hit of pumpkin as well as a mix of malts and a dash of brown sugar. The taste delivers a decent amount of pumpkin and then gets a little upwelling of sweet vanilla, cinnamon graham cracker and then a brown sugar sort of malty character. Pretty nice stuff that has a pleasing balance and load of pumpkin going on here as well as a refreshingly light barrel character.

New Year’s Eve tasting Flight (1 of 3 7:19p) - bottled. Large foamy head. Leaving fair amount of lacing as it collapses. Dark brown, nearly opaque body when held up to a lamp. Light aroma of pumpkin spices. Most dominant flavor is vanillas from the barrel aging. Backbone of spices. Fairly clean palate. Not a lot of pumpkin to it. But, perhaps that’s what makes it better than some pumpkin brews I’ve had. Might be good to try this to see if it mellows with age.

Pours a semi-translucent chestnut with a thick and rather persistent light tan head. Aroma has strong pumpkin, spice and bourbon notes atop a malty core. Flavor has pumpkin, cinnamon, clove, bourbon, and subtle fruity notes, distinctive and pleasing if not phenomenal. Texture is not firm, but has fair fizz and leaves a cooked pumpkin finish with a bit of spice. Pinchy this jeek!
