Courtesy of after4ever. Pours vary dark brown with nice mocha head. The mild aroma carries notes of roasted malts, chocolate and toffee to start and then moving toward sweet black grapes and a touch of toastiness. The taste is much the same with smooth even roasty malts, burnt malts and dark chocolate. It remains this way to the finish where it ends very dry with burnt malts and coffee and the associated astringency.

500 ml bottle, from Voldby Købmandsgård. Batch #150. ABV is 10.01%. Pitch black colour, impressive brown head. Lovely aroma of hops, heavily roasted malts, coffee and dark chocolate, hints of vanilla. The flavour has an intense bitterness from start to finish, both from the hops and the roasted malts - too much hoppy bitterness for mye taste, as it overshades the finer tones of 8 different malts. Also burnt notes, and notes of too strong coffee. Not enough sweetness to balance the bitterness. Ashy aftertaste.

Sampled on 10/23/2010. This Imperial Stout pours an eclipse black color from a 50cl bottle. Small to medium sized dark tan foamy head, with nice lacing and good retention. The aroma is chocolate, coffee, roasty malts and a touch of vanilla. A medium bodied Imperial Stout. The malts are chocolate and coffee, lots of roasted malt character. The hops are herbal and earthy. Nice carbonation. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is bitter and chocolaty.

Pours an opaque sable with a fairly thick and fine-bubbled, if not persistent, tan head. Aroma is smoky with hints of molasses and miso and a bit of an alcohol nip. Smoky, slightly sweet flavor has tones of chocolate and roast coffee with salty, nutty and molasses hints and just a touch of bitterness. Texture is thick and silky smooth with a decent edgy fizz to it. This one is worth seeking.

Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a large medium brown foamy head with great retention and very good lacing. Aroma of dry roasted malt and bitter hosp with great black dry chocolate notes. Taste is also a nice mix between some dry roasted notes and some black chocolate with a bitter hoppy finish with notes of green fresh hops. Full body with a somewhat creamy body and great carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Very well done if maybe slightly too hoppy and more creamy chocolate malt could have potentially improve this beer.

Bottled. Black opaque colour big beigeish brown colour. Aroma is coffee, roasted malts with some yeast and mild wooden notes. Also some slight vanilla does balance it up as it got a bit warmer. Flavour is coffee, chocolate, roasted malts and some vanillaish notes. Wellbalanced. Once it warms up it gets a lot of licorice in it.

. Pours out in a black appearance with dark brown edges, topped with a big and dense brown foam. Big aroma of sweet black coffee, piney hops, cookies and roasted nuts. Flavour of pine-needles, black coffee, nuts, cedar wood, toasted bread and chocolate sauce. Bitter finish of black coffee, pine-needles and grass.
