Draft: Poured a black with a light brown head. Aroma light hops, roasted malts, chocolates. Taste is hoppy bitter, coffee bean, roasted malts, chocolate, tingly finish.

Half liter pours deep dark void with impressive mocha head. The aroma has rich chocolate mingling with some of sweet rich dark fruitiness as well as lesser notes of caramel malts, a bit of malt roastiness and black licorice. The taste begins smooth and almost creamy yet ushering in a quick hit of black licorice, rich dark fruitiness and highly roasted malts. It then picks up some chocolate and a touch of caramel malts. I get mild chocolate, some prune notes and near robust levels of black licorice and burnt malts taking this into the finish and deep into the after taste. Yummy brew with no sense of the abv.

Pours a real dark brown colour with hardly any highlights. Beautiful creamy-bubbly beige head that stays long and creates thick creamy lacing. Roasted malt aromas with some darker fruits. The fruits take over in the taste and the alcohol is very well-hidden. The roasted malts are blended quite mildly in there. Nothing too crazy here, but goes down smoothly overall.

Pours a thick frothy and creamy brownish head and has a fairly dark brown appearance. Dirty lacing. Aromas of roasted malts, chocolate and light vanilla notes. Flavours are fairly sweet, some roasted malts again with the chocolate, as well as mild spices, coffee and raisins. Good balance of sweetness and bitterness. Medium bodied mouthfeel. Goes down very smooth. The alcohol is very well hidden.

The beer pours a solid black with a half inch light tan head. Aroma is roasted malt, coffee, and copius amounts of anise and chocolate. The mouthfeel is full-bodied, quite possibly the fullest bodied beer I have ever tried. The flavour is roasted malt, dark chocolate, coffee and smoke. An excellent beer.Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 9 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 9
LONG time wish list item, finally available in NorCal (and Reno since). Wonderful roasted malt aroma, coffee and light chocolate, slightly charred flavor. Soooo stivking smooth...10.5% but drinks like 6 or 7. Pretty complex flavor, just right hopping. Going back for more of this.

First attempt to drink this I dropped it on the basement floor. As it smashed and fizzed across the floor the aroma was so yum I got on my hands and knees to inhale. Just had to have a taste. Not the best way to review a beer so I bought another. Aroma and rich flavour just as I remembered. Roasted malts, dark chocolate, coffee and cocoa. Great body, smooth and thick. Alcohol hits the spot. Ps. After drinking the sludge in the bottom I should have scored it higher.

At Copenhagen Beer Festival. Pitch black colour. Aroma of vanilla and chocolate, also roasty coffee notes. Roasty flavour, again with notes of coffee, vanilla and chocolate. Jolly good stuff.

Pours pitch black with floaty sediment and a huge huge tan head. Aroma is cocoa and coffee. Mouth has some smokey bite to it. Flavor is as expected, heavy duty Imp and quite nice.

An outstanding Imperial Stout. I've had the opportunity to try a bottle of this for each of the last two years and I hope to continue for years to come. A pitch black pour with a creamy brown head. Roasted malt, dark chocolate, and anise make up the aroma. and the flavour. Aftertaste is bitter, but worth it.
