This is not your standard Belgian tripel. A murky golden yellow with a huge frothy white head that lasts. The aroma is both very funky and very fruity with the grains, and yeast somewhere in the background. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, slightly creamy, and a little lively. The flavor is somewhat grassy with hints of tart fruit and yeast. Not my bag

Purchased on my trip to Maine. Batch # 210. Pours a hazy golden colour with a white bubble head that stays. Dirty lacing. Spicy nose with the Belgian ale yeast. Smooth mouthfeel with the spices and yeast. Gets a little stronger in the finish. Quite a nice Tripel that goes down smoothly.

Thanks to MDSmith for this beer. Out of the box, I should mention that I am NOT a fan of tripels - they are not my favorite style by any stretch. That being said, I understand what they should and should not be and this is a very good shot at a style mastered by the masters of brewing.

another solid brew from Allagash! Dry fruity aroma hits the nose with a hint of yeast. More to come in the flavor. Highly carbonated feel. Flufyf white head. Earthy hops. Nice brew.

wanted to like this one so much more than I did. I picked this up because my local store didn't carry Allagash White, which is a favorite of mine. Knowing that I've had good experience with many tripels, I thought this would be a sure winner. Appearance: Good, full head with reasonable lacing; the color was cloudy, wheaty Aroma: very mild, fruity, hints of banana Flavor: way too bitter for my taste. This is not a brew that hides its alcohol content well. Starts with a deceptive gentleness that rolls right into a lasting bitterness. Mouthfeel: average I was taken aback by the complete averageness of this beer.

A hazy golden tripel like no other. An off-white head tops it all off. The aroma was fruit tinged although there was a little malt as well. The flavour wasn't too my liking, very non-descript with a bitter finish.

Pours a clear orangish-yellow with a large white head. I still have yet to find a triple that smells fantastic. This one isn't bad though. The taste is spot-on, exactly what I was hoping for.

Pours a beautiful hazy honey-golden with some white head. Aroms is crisp, fruity and malty, with hints of honey and lemon. Malty flavor is a little tart with a fruity undertone and a touch of caramel. Texture is very smooth, and finish is just a little sweet. Very satisfying.

I was surprised and intrigued by the peach and berry-like flavors in this tripel. Along with the ripe fruit, I detected vanilla, honey and light cinnamon & ginger. Tastes of warm malt, too, with aromas of malt & berries. Cloudy but bright golden appearance; bubbly white head. Soft, smooth mouthfeel. Delicious bitter finish.
