As a precursor to their Hop series, Keith's started to get better. First came the red, which I found quite nice. Then the white and again I was...well maybe not impressed per se but certainly surprised given that Keith's was basically macro swill. Mind you though, still not as good as their Rickard's counterparts. Then one night I had the chance to drink quite a few of these and I actually found myself wanting more, to the point I was actually a wee bummed when they stopped selling it in this marketplace.

Recent find at the liquor store. Colour - pale yellow, white head. Aroma - skunky, a few grains. Mouthfeel - thin. Flavour - slight grains, some bitterness. Overall - below average.

Two new Keith's brew showed up at my Metro store recently. This one and the Harvest Ale. Rating both tonight. I have to say that if patio weather beer is what they wanted out of this one, we kind of got it a bit late (as summer is over). I found if funny to see this one come out... after Rickard's released a blonde as well this summer. Pours a slight hazy amber-blonde colour with a big frothy head, great retention and lacing. Aromas of spices (almost light cinnamon) coming from the light hop with some grainy malts. Oily mouthfeel with a bread taste blended with herbal spices. Usually, I prefer these commercial swills from the bottle, but this one seems a bit better from the glass. Still think I prefer the Rickard's though.

Everywhere you go in Canada, people are drinking Alexander Keith's this or that.....I admit it, I've done it myself. This is one of their newer nectars, very clear, somewhat sudsy. The nose is very metallic with a lot of skunk. Flavour is on the sweet side, quite malty.

The beer poured a translucent light gold colour with a generous off-white head which quickly disappeared. The aroma was corn, grainly malt, and metal. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour was God awful with lots of metallic and acidic tones. -

Really? Why? Yet another beer Keith’s produced beer in the ongoing beer war “Keith’s vs. Rickard’s” and as always Rickard’s has won. Golden yellow body with no cap. Aroma is…………like every other macro ever made, but since this is Labatt’s “premium” brand it’s of a slightly and I mean slightly higher quality. Taste is bread with a mild bitter hop…….very mild……very, very mild. More bread, faint hints of lemon, and a sweet metallic finish. I hate Keith’s but I’m forced to try anything new they make…………..Dam you beer rating addiction!!!!!!!
