Abita Seersucker Summer Pils (June – September) is a traditional pilsner with a full bodied malt flavor, hop bitterness and a light golden color. It is made with pilsner and carapils malts, hopped with German Tradition and Spalt hops. This Pils pairs well with seasonal summer favorites like grilled chicken, salmon or garden salads. It also is a refreshing choice with spicier dishes, Mexican food and most Asian cuisines. Try it with a mild white Vermont cheddar, Havarti or Monterey Jack cheese.

Pours slightly hazy solar yellow with a thick porcelain head. Aroma delivers grassy, malty, hay and subtle fruity tones - quite different from other pilses I have tried. Flavor has the fresh malt typical of a pilsner, but an overtone of grassy hops, as well as pear, apple and hay notes, almost more an IPA than a pils. An IPP? :D Mouthfeel presents fairly firm body, good fizz, and a finish that is more hoppy than malty and offers a grassy undertone.

A cloudy yellow amber colored beer with a big sudsy textured white head rising robustly above. There's good hang time on the head. A thick billowery ringlet and film are left. A standard pils. Earthy nose. More earthiness in the tasting with grassy hops and a biscuit malt backbone. Light, effervescent and refreshing.
