10,000 years in the making, our Lebanese Pale Ale marks the return home for beer. From the land where beer and human civilization were born comes a new brew that is a marriage of Western brewing tradition, Eastern complexity, and a sublime expression of the Lebanese Renaissance. This beer is an innovation inspired straight from the Lebanese spice markets, and filled with Lebanese tastes. This beer was co-brewed with Anders Kissmeyer. Our Lebanese Pale Ale is based on an English IPA and has 6.3% ABV. We used Lebanese herbs such as za'atar (wild thyme), sumac, chamomile, sage, anise, and mint in the brewing process. This gave the beer is distinctly Lebanese flavor and fragrance.

Pale yellow, short lasting white foam head. Light barley aroma, taste of mass produced lager beer. OK as country tick, not to be repeated for drinking. (Velp 201412)

Gold with scattered foam. Aroma of thyme and bread yeast also comes out in the flavor. It's meant to evoke za'atar coated pita, which I love, but I'm thinking more a thyme foccacia. The sage can be discerned, but I can't pick out sumac or anise at all, and mint is dubious at best. Still, I love it and could happily drink this everyday were it not for the price. Not very hoppy for style. Not very heavy or sticky, either, and very prickly. For everyone who loves Mediterranean food.
