Grande Reserve is a specialty beer brewed over lees in winter using the first malt and hops from the last harvest. Roasted malts give it its characteristic amber hue. Brewed by infusion with strong and hearty Flemish hops, then fermented using top yeasts. Grande Reserve is perfectly balanced between malt aroma, fruity flavors and bitterness. The head is generous, dense and long-lasting. Refermented in the bottle. Serve with care (leaving behind the fine yeast sediment). Available from February while stocks last in 750 ml bottles corked and stamped.

750 ml corked bottle, with a metal brace and as St. Sylrestre 3 Monts Grande Réserve and a 9,5 % ABV. Poured a clear and golden pale amber coloured BdG with a generous three fingers slightly beige, dense, fine and pillowy foamy head that had a very long retention and tons of micro bubbles. Soft carbonation. Good lacing. The aroma is intense sweety malts, notes of caramel and a honey touch. The flavour is sweety malts, caramel, candy sugar, toffee and a spicy touch with star anis and licorice. The mouthfeel is fulled, sugary even a bit sticky. The texture is oily. This full bodied BdG has a dry and light warming feeling. It's quite incredible, this 3 Monts Grande Réserve with its 9,5 % ABV can not compete versus the regular 3 Monts and its "only" 8,5 % ABV !

pours a billowy, pillow soft head, with lots of carbonation and yellow, almost adjunct lager like body. The aroma had some wheat, and hops. the taste had a good amount of wheat, similar to a tripel, with some aged hops. The mouthfeel was medium density, and medium-high carbonation.

Bottle came with a cork and a metal type strap to hold it in?! Weird! But, poured a very large foamy, off-white head. Pale amber colour in appearance. Lot of lacing, top to finish. Light roasted malts and grains in aroma. Flavours of malts, barley, sour type fruits (lemon), pretty sweet as well. A bit bitter on the aftertaste, taste of alcohol is apparent. Pretty strong beer (10%!) but doesn't show it much. Ok stuff.
