126 | Alpine Beer Company McIlhenney's Irish Red | United States | Irish Ale | 3.6
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 This is probably the best Irish Ale Ive had to date. A dark reddish brown appearance with a moderate head. The flavor was rather complex with some bitterness present. I tasted cherries, nutmeg, and grapefruit. From the looks of it, I enjoyed this more than most people. |

127 | Alpine Beer Company Pure Hoppiness | United States | Imperial IPA | 4.3
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 9 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 9 Woohoo! Another great west coast IPA. A big ol splash of orange peel in the nose. The hops will destroy your palate and its an addictive beer. This has a heavy pine and lemon presence. A hopfest for sure. No wonder Barnyard orders this all the time. |

128 | Altenmünster Jubelbier Dunkel Spezial | Germany | Dunkel / Dark Lager | 3.6
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 8 Aroma is chocolate and caramel. Apperance is brown with a nice head. 129 | Alvinne Balthazar | Belgium | Belgian Strong Ale | 2.7
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 A dark brown appearance with a beige head. This smells like a Halls cough drop. Well a chocolate covered Halls. The flavor is rather sour with some mint, ginger, chocolate, and nutmeg. The palate was quite watery. Not sure what the goal was here, if it was to make a crazy ass beer that kind of sucks they accomplished that! |

131 | Alvinne Melchior | Belgium | Belgian Strong Ale | 3.7
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 This one poured a copper color. The aroma is malty but also contains a hint of citrus and alcohol. The flavor is rather sweet with some dark fruits, toffee, crystal malts, and syrup of some sort. I taste some limes in this? Well anyway overall it was pretty good. |

132 | Amager Hr. Frederiksen | Denmark | Imperial Stout | 4.3
Aroma: 10 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 9 A black apperance with a nice tan head. The aroma contains a bit of alcohol along with some chocolate, coffee, dark fruit, and licorice. Some smoke up in the nose. The flavor is quite sweet and warming. It contains some chocolate, coffee, raisins, licorice, and molasses. My only complaint is the alcohol is very apparent. The finish is somewhat bitter. Overall a nice dessert beer! |

133 | Amager Rated XX | Denmark | Imperial IPA | 3.8
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 8 This one seems good for #1900! I was told this was from Papsoe. Props bro! This poured a murky brown color with very little head. The aroma contains some butterscotch, caramel, toffee on the frosted side, quite a bit of citrus on the unfrosted side. The flavor contains alot of stuff as well. Malt wise brown sugar, caramel, and toffee. On the hop side we get a ton of citrus like oranges, lemons, and grapefruit. A big ’ol beer right here. May have been a LITTLE overdone with 23 hops but a nice beer regardless. |

134 | Amstel Light | Netherlands | Light / Lite Lager | 2.0
Aroma: 3 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 4 Better than most light beers, but what the hell does that say? Low ABV but a decent flavor for what it is. Overall the price is too much for what you get, but if you must drink a light beer this is probably a top 3. Like the top 3 janitors! |

135 | Anchor Bock | United States | Bock | 3.5
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 Thanks for sending this one Flipbrewer. It poured a dark black with a moderate tan head. The palate is a little thin but the flavor stands up with some roasted nuts, dark chocolate, and coffee. Not very much sweetness exists. Overall it was a good beer. |

136 | Anchor Liberty Ale | United States | American Pale Ale | 3.9
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 This is a nice one. Good appearance. Flavor is slightly hoppy with some citrus peeping in the background. A nice palate. A milder IPA or APA style. Good for when you arent in the mood to be overloaded with hops. Nice complex but simple ale. |

137 | Anchor Old Foghorn Ale | United States | American Barleywine | 4.3
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 9 An orangish brown appearance with a moderate tan head. The aroma is floral and full of oranges and raisins. This sucker hides that 10% amazingly well. I taste caramel, vanilla, toffee, and grapes. Its a little sweet but seems to find almost perfect balance. Glad Ive had the chance to sample so many good barleywines lately. |

138 | Anchor Our Special Ale (All vintages through 1998) | United States | Spiced Beer | 3.3
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 6 Vertical from 1996-2004. These 1998 and earlier are getting past thier prime. A dark brown appearance with little head. The spice has died and a yeasty funky flavor has taken over. Some chocolate and caramel flavors. In this year 2006 Id say stay out of the 1990s vintages. |

Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 Vertical from 1996-2004. Ok now its getting better. For those who like the spices toned down grab this one. Just a hint of spice with the usual dark malt flavor. A nice mix of spice, caramel, chocolate. With this vintage Im beginning to detect the ginger, cinammon, and other spices. Not bad at all! |

Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 Vertical from 1996-2004. This was the winner hands down. Just enough time to tone down the spices and pine flavor. A perfect balance of chocolate, caramel, ginger, cinammon, and wheat flavor. I enjoyed this more than any others I sampled. |

144 | Anchor Our Special Ale 2004 | United States | Spiced Beer | 3.6
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 8 A strange find this weekend, some Christmas in July I guess. A dark brown color with a hint of red and a beige head. The aroma is loads of ginger, cinammon, and nutmeg. The flavor is somewhat sour with a heavy holiday spice rack in there. The body is a little thin. I enjoyed it. |

Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 9 This is one of the best porters out there. Appearance is dark with a good beige head. Flavor is chocolate/coffee and very malty. Smooth taste that gets a little sweet after more than a few. An absolute beauty of a porter. Go get one right now! |

Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 9 My notes say "w..he/ ite" WTF??? Well I can read the rest of it. A reddish brown appearance. 149 | Anderson Valley Barney Flats Oatmeal Stout | United States | Oatmeal Stout | 3.8
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 8 Aroma is chocolate, toffee, and cake icing. The appearance is pitch black with a moderate beige head. The flavor is bittersweet with a heavy dose of chocolate and toffee. This is a very well balanced sweet stout indeed. This style typically bends itself too sweet but this beer avoids that. I am very impressed. Go Barney! Go Barney! |

150 | Anderson Valley Boont Barl Bourbon Barrel Amber Ale | United States | Amber Ale | 3.3
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 Dark amber with a white head. The aroma contains caramel and a strong presence of whiskey. The flavor is malty and boozy with caramel, toffee, and alot of whiskey. Youd think this was high abv but its not. Dry finish. Overall an ok beer in small amounts. |
