1327 | Nøgne Ø Eat That Question | Norway | Imperial IPA | 3.6
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 500 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 8.5%, IBU 25. Deep golden to orange colour, nearly clear. Small white head. Aroma of resinous and spicy hops, also notes of yellow stonefruits, some citrus. Moderate carbonation. The flavour is first sweet and malty with some caramel, followed by resinous and grapefruity bittering hops. Decent enough, but the balance is not optimal. |

1329 | Kinn Bresjnev (aka Nansen) | Norway | Foreign / Extra Stout | 3.8
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 7 May 2015: Kinn Bresjnev Sovjet Staut, 750 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 8.0%. Hopped with Fuggles. Pitch black colour, moderate but lasting tan head. Strong dryish roasty aroma, notes of roast malts and coffee, some woodwork too. Medium dry flavour, just enough residual swetness to carry through the strong roasty notes of coffee and dark bitter chocolate. Fairly bitter finish, both from the hops and the roast malts. |

1330 | Ægir Taco Fredag Mexican Lager | Norway | Pale Lager | 1.8
Aroma: 3 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 3 | Flavor: 3 | Overall: 3 440 ml can, from SPAR Jørpeland. ABV is 4.7%. Slightly hazy golden colour, moderate white head. Sweetish aroma of malts and maize / sweet corn, some grassy notes, a hint of caramel. The flavour has also some sweetness, but not as much as the aroma made me fear. A surprisingly distinct and sharpish metallic bitterness follows the sweetness. Unbalanced, unharmonious - not a beer I'll buy again. |

1331 | Ægir Dag Mango | Norway | Fruit Beer | 1.7
Aroma: 2 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 3 | Flavor: 3 | Overall: 3 Aug. 2020: 330 ml can, from Det Gode Brygg, Kvadrat, Sandnes. ABV is 4.0%. Clear amber colour, moderate white head. Intense and repulsive aroma of artificial mango and orange essence. The flavour has much of the same artificial essence, but is not as sweet as I feared. Sharpish bitter finish. Unbalanced and unpleasant - by far the worst beer I've had from Ægir. Drainpour. Do us a service, and bury this recipe! |

An okay summer refreshment, but clearly not Ægir’s best beer. |

1334 | Frydenlund Juicy Pilsner | Norway | Bohemian / Czech Pilsener | 3.5
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 500 ml can, from SPAR Jørpeland. ABV is 4.5%. Clear pale golden colour, moderate white head. Moderate but nice aroma of citrus and tropical fruits, including lychee. The flavour has pleasant notes of citrus and lychee, fortunately not too sweet. Might well buy again, when I just want a nice summer refreshment. A tad more bitterness would not hurt, though. |

1335 | Kronenbourg 1664 Rosé | France | Fruit Beer | 2.5
Aroma: 3 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 5 330 ml cobalt blue bottle, from SPAR Jørpeland. ABV is 4.5%. Ancient pink colour, moderate to small off-white head. Aroma of artificial and unfresh real "fruits of the forest" blends. The flavour is somewhat fresher and better, notes of lemons, lactic acid and berries. Dull finish, low bitterness. Won't buy again. |

1342 | St. Feuillien Cuvée de Pâques | Belgium | Belgian Strong Ale | 3.7
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 Aug. 2005: 750 ml bottle, corked champagne-style. Bought in Denmark. Very large and lasting cream-coloured head, beer is hazy brown with a reddish hue. Very strong and "raw" aroma of barnyard, ensilage, ammonia, leather and fermenting fruits, mellows gradually in the glass. Flavour is a bit smoother and mellower than the aroma - chocolate sweetness, some oak and spices, moderate but decent hops. Mouthfeel becomes strangely metallic and watery (for a 7.5% beer, that is) in the finish. Some liquorice in the aftertaste. An interesting beer after all. |

Strong aroma of Christmas spices, too much anise / aniseed (as in a couple other beers from this brewery). Fizzy mouthfeel. The flavour is spicy and medium sweet, again with too much anise / aniseed. |

Deep brown colour, large beige head. Aroma of malts, dark sugar, dark dried fruits and anise, a hint of sweat. Fizzy mouthfeel. Sweet flavour, malts and dark sugar again, not very spicy, low bitterness, moderate notes of oak. Not bad, but cannot compete with the best trappists. |
