2101 | Lindemans Gueuze Cuvee Rene | Belgium | Gueuze | 4.3
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 9 355ml bottle
5.3% ABV
I tried this beer on November 19, 2008 at "Smokeless Joe's" in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer poured a clouded golden-orange into the glass with almost no head whatsoever. Effervescence was on display. The aroma was sour, and musty. The mouthfeel was medium-bodied, with medium-carbonation....although that may have been lost in the pucker. The flavour was malty with some possible green apple hints. Very tart. Definitely worth trying. |

The beer poured a translucent orange-red with a very thin very short-lived white head. The aroma is malty with pumpkin and spicy notes (cloves and nutmeg). The mouthfeel was medium bodied with above average carbonation. The flavour was primarily malty with some definite spiciness and a hop-laden finish. Better than the Great Lakes Pumpkin ale in my opinion. |
