776 | Rochester Mills MilkShake Stout (Holiday Latte) | United States | Milk Stout | 2.5
Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 After reassessing the previous can, this beer pours like a dark cream soda, a translucent dark cherry red cream soda with brown edges. The head starts off huge and within a couple of seconds is left as an island of bubbles on the centre of the beer. The aroma is quite weak in this case. Weak notes of roasted malt, dark chocolate, and coffee. The mouthfeel is thin to medium bodied with average carbonation. Certainly ‘thicker’ than the Crème de menthe. The flavour was one dimensional coming across as nothing more than roasted malt, coffee, and chocolate. |

777 | Rochester Mills MilkShake Stout (Crème de Menthe) | United States | Milk Stout | 2.3
Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4 473ml can
4.5% ABV
Best Before: June 6, 2019
LCBO # 255 (Milton, Ontario, Canada – Main / Bronte)
December 3, 2018
$3.49
The beer, when held up to a strong white light, pours a translucent dark brown colour with blackened edges. There is very little to no cap to speak of, aside from a small brown island of bubbles. The two predominant aromas are alcohol (it’s only 4.5%) and mint. Closer inspection reveals roasted malt, chocolate, and vanilla. The mouthfeel is very thin, almost soda pop thin which goes along with being a translucent stout and quickly disappearing head. The flavour is very weak, almost watered down. There are weak hints of roasted malt and chocolate with a hint of mint. This did not make for a good beer, but would have made for a great soft drink. |

778 | Henderson Brewing Food Truck Beer | Canada | Blonde Ale | 3.0
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 473ml can
4.80% ABV
Canned On: September 16, 2018
LCBO #457 (Toronto, Ontario, Canada – Yonge / Eglinton)
December 1, 2018
$2.95
The beer pours a clear metallic gold colour with a thin white film for a head. The aroma is grainy malt, some toast notes, and herbal hops. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is similar to a multitude of craft blonde ales out there…..grainy malt up front with a decent bitter finish. |

779 | Rochester Mills Imperial Milkshake Stout | United States | Imperial Stout | 3.4
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 473ml can
7.5% ABV
Best Before: August 20, 2019
LCBO # 255 (Milton, Ontario, Canada – Main / Bronte)
December 1, 2018
$3.49
The beer pours a solid dark brown colour with brown edges, and a thin creamy light brown cap. The aroma was roasted malt, milk chocolate and a hint of vanilla. The mouthfeel was full bodied with above average carbonation. The flavour was primarily roasted malt, with a hint of bitter chocolate. There is almost a maple type sweetness that isn’t maple, but I can’t really describe it. A solid effort. |

The aroma is citrus, yeast, funk, and light grains. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is grainy malt with some bitter citrusy hops, and some salty hints. Not something I would drink more than one at a time, but quite good. |

781 | Collective Arts Collective Project: Gose (Guava) | Canada | Gose | 2.7
Aroma: 4 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 5 473ml can
4.90% Abv
Canned On: September 12, 2018
LCBO # 255 (Milton, Ontario, Canada – Main / Bronte)
December 1, 2018
$3.95
The beer pours a murky orange-gold colour with a generous white head that takes a while to dissipate. The aroma is Tuscan ham (yes, I said Tuscan ham), citrus, and yeast. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is very tart, so tart that I can’t recognize what the underlying fruit is. I swear I taste chopped Vidalia onions in this – and I hate onions. This is certainly not my favourite Collective Arts beer |

782 | Kona Big Wave Golden Ale | United States | Blonde Ale | 2.7
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 5 14oz draught
4.40% ABV (as written on menu)
Prohibition Gastropub (Toronto, Ontario, Canada)
November 30, 2018
$0.00
The beer poured a very clear pale gold colour with a half inch white cap that did stick around a few minutes. The aroma was grains, some light citrus notes, and a yeasty tone. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with average carbonation, The flavour was the downfall of this beer. It was very grainy, and had an 'off' bitterness that I could not place. Not something I would try again. |

783 | Mill Street White Space Wheat | Canada | Witbier | 2.4

Possibly a symptom of being 5 months old. The aroma is wheat malt, some wet cardboard, and weak floral hops. The mouthfeel is light bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is watered down wheat, with some bubble gum sweetness and weak bitter hop finish. Not very good. |

784 | Belhaven 90 Shilling (90 /_) Wee Heavy Ale | United Kingdom | Scottish Ale | 3.8

The beer pours a dark brown colour with a fluffy off-white head that is about 1cm thick. The aroma is funky yeast, roasted malt, and caramel. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is sweet caramel malt, some molasses notes, which I expect in a 90 Shilling / Scotch Ale, and a bitter hoppishness in the finish. A pleasant beer. |

785 | Sawdust City / Bar Hop Brewco The Blood of Chthulu | Canada | Imperial Stout | 3.1
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 473ml can
9.5% Abv
Canned On: October 4, 2018
LCBO #457 (Toronto, Ontario, Canada – Yonge / Eglinton)
November 24, 2018
$5.25
The beer pours a solid black colour with a generous foamy light brown cap which sticks around. The aroma is soy sauce (not good when it’s the first smell in an Imperial Stout), roasted malt, dark chocolate, and coffee. The ingredients list raspberries and cherries but I’m not feeling them as part of the aroma. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is bitter chocolate, roasted malt, with coffee and soy notes in the background. Being a supporter of Bar Hop, this beer is a huge disappointment and hopefully the draught version is better. |

786 | Belhaven Twisted Thistle IPA (European version) | United Kingdom | IPA | 3.1
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 6 330ml bottle
5.60% ABV
Best Before: November 20, 2019
LCBO # 255 (Milton, Ontario, Canada – Main / Bronte)
November
$2.66
Part of the 2018 Belhaven Craft Christmas 6-Pack. This clearly a British style IPA with the emphasis on ‘clearly’ as there isn’t a speck of haze in the glass. The beer pours a translucent metallic gold colour with a thin white film for a head. Swirling the beer for a few seconds generates a 1” foamy off-white head. The aroma is grainy malt, some musty hops and some floral hops, and yeast. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is grainy malt up front, some acidic tones, and a bitter citrusy hop finish. Hard to detect the citrus in the aroma but it is definitely there on the palate. |

The beer pours a translucent dark reddish brown with a creamy light brown head which lasts. There are seasonal spices and dark fruit in the aroma along with yeast, grains, and molasses. The mouthfeel is full bodied, creamy, with average carbonation. The flavour is more sweet than bitter with the sweet sugary flavours coming through with the spices. The finish is both spicy and bitter at the same time. A well made holiday Belgian style ale that will do in a pinch if you can’t get a Corsedonk or St. Bernardus Christmas ale. |

The beer pours a hazed medium gold colour with a thick bubbly head that is short lived as are all Macro beer caps. The aroma is stale grains, metallic notes, and cardboard. No wheat or spices. Is it age, or just bad beer? The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is definitely wheat with bubblegum in the mix. Still not a lot of spice or hop notes on the tongue. It certainly tastes better than it smells, and to be honest is quite a bit better than some craft witbiers here in Ontario. |
