Nose: Bubblegum, clove, banana. Appearance: dark brown body carmel color and head with short retention leaves the skim coat not much lace. Mouth: extremely fizzy of the tongue. Rather thin with a long finish. Flavor: starts pretty sweet with a little bit of bubble gum, candied fruits, toasted malts creep in, some raisin, there's some pepper in the finish the alcohol is warming and the finish is extremely long.

Sorry to ask us to put up a description so here it is. At the end of the 19th century, Munich took great pleasure in two new beaming additions to the city: the golden Angel of Peace and the first lager beer speciality, Münchner Gold. Still brewed by us to this day according to the age-old recipe, this slightly stronger beer is a mature masterpiece and delights with its enticing malty aroma and its slightly stronger original wort. Color pale, golden-yellow Flavours balanced Bitterness balanced Alcohol 5,5 % vol Calorific values 46 kcal / 100 ml Choice hops Hallertauer Tradition, Hallertauer Herkules Premium malt Marthe, Grace and Catamaran barley varieties Perfect with: Our Münchner Gold is particularly tasty as an accompaniment to traditional Bavarian snacks with bread, salad, sliced meats and typical cheese specialities such as Obatzda (Camembert spread) and blue-veined cheese. We also recommend it with fish, seafood and juicy roast chicken. Decent mouth slightly watery very short finish. I know it can't be but this tastes like corn to me. Christian Moulton and some very lightly bittering hops, it's like a better Budweiser. NOW A REVIEW Hell nose of malt and grass. We are medium gold body not much lasting to the head and no lace. Maybe it's just not my cup of pee.

Red berry fruit, cotton candy, tobacco, in this big nose. There's a cake extremely dark brown with a deep tan head that lasts well and leaves good lace. Creamy slick and coating in the mouth with a medium body. The starts a little on the sweet side and finishes nicely bitter. There's coffee and dark chocolate and a lot of toasty malts. The alcohol is warming there's perhaps a bit of a vanilla flavor towards the end and the finish is long.

Typical Hefe nose with the esters is just a little bit more on the mild side. More clove and spice than banana which I think I'm going to like. I didn't have a proper hefe glass but the poor has the head that won't expects frothy and white the lovely clear gold body tending towards the Amber side. Mouth is foamy medium to light bodied proper tingle. Flavor is following the nose. Light on the banana somewhat heavy on the clove hints of cardamom wheat malt is there but barely. Reminds me an awful lot of what I drink in the pubs in Switzerland. So I'm probably going to kick it up a little for sentimentality sake.

Very surprisingly mild nose. Lovely medium brown to Ruby body with significant caramel colored head. Not much lace. Nice mouth Folsom coating slightly creamy significant fizz. Really like the flavor on this one. Some chocolate hints of coffee.... Brown sugar... Sweet but not cloyingly so... Bit of dark ripe fruit... Lengthy finish.

Wow, love the nose! Floral lavender, lemons, pine and pepper, and its a big nose too. Cloudy (whats up with that, this is the third otherwise delightful IPA's I have had in a can that are cloudy?) pale amber body is topped by a big frothy white head of medium retention ad nice lace. I hate grading an otherwise decent IPA down for being cloudy but what can I do? Mouth is nice, slightly creamy spot on with the carbonation, and slippery. Flavor follows the nose, touch of flowery sweetness with a good malt backbone, very nicely bittered, dry tart clean finish. Very nice IPA, nothing unique but a classic IPA, and almost in the WC style from this New England brewer. Just noticed crud in bottom of glass, not right for an IPA! knocking it down a bit more/

Re-rate: 2023 not going to change the score but I sure do miss the old label. Some pine and citrus in the nose; apricot, rose petals, and grapefruit. Pour is gorgeous. Quite a pale amber body topped by a rocky, frothy head with great retention and good lace. Medium bodied slightly slippery mouth. Flavor is unique IMHO. With no malt in the nose this has a pretty strong malt backbone. Malt is neutral, neither toasty nor sweet. This beer is bitter! Great job using some hops for nose and others for bittering. The citrus and pine are not nearly as strong in the flavor profile as they are in the nose. Just a really big bitter clean finish with a hint of sour. Some peppery notes detected and once I thought I tasted coffee. Also some pineapple. And wheat, I taste the wheat. Alcohol is a significant part of taste profile. Did I mention fantastic lace? Did I mention bitter? How did they make this beer as pale as it is (all wheat.) Lagunitas never disappoints. This is an extremely well made brew! Rerate 1/21/13 I just adore this brew, there is a lot of pine and citrus in the taste and also some apricot ... wonderful stuff!

The junior version of their dogs and boats. Ripe pair dominates the nose with just a tickle of spicy swee sticky buns. Hazed medium gold body that is somewhat translucent tapped by a nice egg white 2-in head that leaves great lace. Mouth is light to medium bodied with excellent carbonation. Flavor is less fruity than the nose ... Starts bitter then some apricot or pear flavors come through... The finish is lengthy and goes somewhat astringent perhaps too much so. Very little malt happening here.

Standard hazy NEIPA nose slightly low-key. The Amber color has an odd 10 show beige smash green in it on the body with a head that leaves the skims coat. Poor retention and a little bit of sudsy lace. Paininess from the oats coming through in the mouth feel. Feels a bit under carbonated. A little understated compared to most AZ IPAs which in my opinion is a good thing however towards the end there's some astringency a little bit of aspirin not the kind of bittering I'm looking for in this type of beer. Finishes pretty clean slightly sweet.

On tap at the local, Icons in New Fairfield Connecticut. Slightly mild nose no barley detectable hints of some wheat. Perhaps are largely tropical citra happening here. Appearance is classic New England hazed IPA moderate gold to copper body white head that has some retention leaves a skim coat with gorgeous lace. I'm loving the mouth feel on this which is coming from the wheat no doubt it's creamy and moderate to full bodied. The flavor is spot on for New England hazy.... It's heady topper slightly reduced. At 6.5% it it's a nice place on the alcohol level. The flavors are typical of your hazy New England IPA some mango some pineapple very tropical and yet they are somewhat more restrained which I think is a plus. The spirit is happening for sure and I'm going to have to check out equilibrium for some more of their brews.
