Bottle. Colour - solid black, light brown edges, nice viscosity, creamy brown head, good lacing. Aroma - dark chocolate, coffee, roasted malt, sweet molasses notes as well. Mouthfeel - full bodied, well carbonated. Flavour - the strongest flavours are dark chocolate and coffee but there are notes of black licorice and charred nuts as well. Great beer.

Can. Colour - clear, dark metallic gold colour with a big white head that lasts, good lacing. Aroma - light bready notes, weak caramel, floral hops. Mouthfeel - medium bodied, well carbonated. Flavour - notes of caramel and cereal malt, followed by a mild bitter hop finish. I really liked this but not all that easy to find in the city!

Bottle. Colour - clear metallic gold, thin white head, no lacing. Aroma - perfumy flowers and off-putting. Mouthfeel - weak bodied, average carbonation. Flavour - weak grains and herbs, due to the thin and watery nature the flavour was also very weak.

  • Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 9

Draught. Colour - black pour, think creamy brown head, not a lot of lacing. Aroma - roasted malt, dark chocolate, coffee, and molasses. Mouthfeel - weak for a stout, well carbonated. Flavour - sweet malty notes up front, coupled with notes of coffee and dark chocolate. This would have been an excellent stout had the mouthfeel been more full bodied.
