A list of breweries with web links

General Beer Discussion by BRADPEAR

I think there is some merit to this url- http://www.ability.org.uk/usa_breweries.html There are links to numerous brew websites. A nice bookmark for keeping up on what's pouring nationwide. This is a UK site with links to dozens of other topics as well < This message was edited by Brad Pear at 4/10/2005 6:02:53 AM.

In Reply To #3 Thanks, Brad, I like it, too. It's true that BeerPal offers 10 times as many breweries (over 2000!) as does the site you shared. However, we do not have a convenient table or list where one can view all the breweries in one place, and access their web pages by clicking a link. Flash has talked about providing this, especially in the vein of developing links and referrals. Plus, we are interested in having the brewers help us maintain the accuracy of our descriptions of their beers. For now, though, it is a multi-stage process to get to the brewers' sites from BP. One suggestion: I think an interesting way to sort breweries is by region, rather than simply alphabetically. For example, I now have a collection of 450 URLs all sorted by region. However, my list lacks the commentary provided on the site Brad highlighted. Still, it's a start of something interesting!

In Reply To #4 The beer compass allows you to easily list breweries by country, state, city, and even zip code. The only problem is they're not all in there yet! Eventually every brewery will be directly linked to the compass, but right now I have bigger fish to fry. Go to the beer compass and use Option #3. Select "USA" and the next page will bring up a drop down menu of states. Select a state and another drop down menu will bring up cities. I wonder how many people have never tried this before? Strange discussion started... It's eveident that BP has one of the greatest beer info data in the web and (well, maybe for me) it is very comfortable to use. And plus we all try to make this data larger and better. But I just found Brad's shared site full of other useful links (not US breweries I mean). As regards breweries, especially USA, there is no use to look anywere else than BP.

http://breweriesontheweb.com It's pretty good. Not 100%, but it has got most of them. Another good search engine is http://pubcrawler.com. It's similar to the compass here. This message was edited by Dansting at 4/24/2005 10:42:52 AM.

In Reply To #5 This is one of my favorite parts of this sight. Any time I'm visitng a new place or on a road trip I check the compass. Great tool. Still incomplete, but it pretty much gaurantees that you can find a solid pub with good beer in new places.
