[:D] Well, this is a Flashback (no pun intended...maybe) to a debate fueled by Bill Yenne vs Michael Jackson books. Bill's book sez Belgium is the Beer Capital, Michael's sez the USA is the Beer Capital. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1qCq4Iv00II My ultimate conclusion? Belgium may have the Best Quality of Beers for any country, where the USA has the Best Variety of Beers for any country. [;)] To test my theory, Flash can sponsor me on a global beer tasting trip...all accomodations and per diem included...so I can eventually critique THE ENTIRE WORLD's beer production !!! Unfortunately I have had the unpleasant experience of drinking toothless rye a pitiful excuse for a rye ale. Nothing new from sierra all their ales are pitiful..I live 200 miles from Chico...used to be a Big Foot fan till it stepped on me in 0'09...word is Sierra products are served in hell....drink all ya want...it is why place is known as hell. The Oktoberfest sierra brews is VERY GOOD even a blind nut gets a squirrel now and then.
Subjective at best...the states damn sure has the largest selection of I'll Pass Always on the globe, and surely has a claim to overpriced low quality ales, but that is about it. Belgium best quality? I would say Belgium most likely to give on a hangover...Who brews the "best bier" IDK..but for damn sure the Germans have the most FUN with it! Don't believe me ? Go see for yourself.
[8)] Wish I could get real German beers here in the backwoods of CNY. Isn't Germany generally considered to be The Beer Country? Round Lagers made with Water, Barleymalt, Yeast, and Hops would be my ideal brews from anywhere. [^]
