Drink This, Not That: 10 Craft Substitutions.

General Beer Discussion by KENDOSURF

I recently tried NARRAGANSETT...a sixer of 16 oz'ers...and it was ok, but probably NOT cheaper than BUD around here. [8)] SESSION LAGER was recommended @ Beerpal as a very good cheap brew, and if I see it I will buy it. Cool article! Btw, I notice you are very active on this site - greatly appreciated. It's the few holdouts that keep this thing going. Cheers, t.
[:)] Thank you. No doubt you're aware that I'd REAALLLY like to see more posting going on. Funny thing...FretPlay had a significant number of over-30's like me and even more 20-somethings, but the median age there was about 16. And a few were not yet in their teens. WE GOT ALONG GREAT AND HAD MANY LONG DISCUSSIONS IN THE FORUMS AND CHAT. There's an assortment of smart adults in this site, but it's VERRRYYYY DIFFICULT to wring posts out of 'em (except some [8D] funny ones in THAT thread. [:D]) Why ?!? [8)][:0][:(]

You've mentioned FretPlay before. Is that a guitar player's forum? My boy just took up guitar. Maybe I'll take a visit. t.

[:(] FretPlay is no more. Long story short: Owner of METALLICA's largest site also owned FretPlay. [8D] Dude known as D4 was Administrator and helped Owner build FretPlay site. Owner left FretPlay in D4's care. I joined; eventually became Co-Admin. [:)][^][8D][:p] !!! [:0] Things went awry between D4 & Owner. Owner got attitude. Site was wiped out. Now songsterr.com comes up when you enter fretplay.com. I know nothing about songsterr except what we can all access without signing up. [8)] This was in Sept. 2008.

[;)] Here's a site that may interest your son. And actually, it's not JUST for beginners. http://www.guitarforbeginners.com/ There are lots of BIG sites out there (Ultimate Guitar for instance) but Lorange's site is a bit more personal. [^]

Sweet! Thanks for the suggestion. He's over the moon about learning to play. He has a good teacher and he likes to practice. His fingers bled the first few nights because he practiced so much - now he has proper calluses. He loves it. Might be cool to connect him to some forums.

[;)] Yep, the Forum there is alright. How can it NOT be; I'm in 'em! (jk...[:D]) KIRK LORANGE is an experienced guitar player who has worked with bands like SUPERTRAMP. We text messaged a bit about people in the music business that we know or know of. He's got a big edge on me there, btw. [8)] KIRK offers both free and paid guitar help, as you can see if you peek inside. [^] [:)] I'm starting...gradually...to regain some interest in playing. I picked up a guitar a few times in the local high school where I still occasionally Sub. Kids were impressed. [8D]. But to get topnotch is probably more than I wanna deal with. Life isn't Music, but Music sure can help!

I am so fucking jealous! That brewery is just amazing. Pound for pound, maybe the best overall brewery in the US. For me, it would be a toss-up between BP, Founders, and Bells.

The Rye was my favorite. I'd had the rum before Sunday, but Sunday's version was WAY more barrel heavy...and was definitely Ballast Point's Rum. By the difference in the nose and flavor I'm not sure the other times were.
